There's a road project near me , it's overrun and owners of land that the works compound is on circa 2 ha, full of portacabins have served notice agreed period is up they want land back.
Contractors running project say it will cost 120k to move compound , they don't want the hassle of a move...
What is the matter with folk ??
They wouldn't want their property trashed ,why do it to others
,whats happened to treat others (or their property) How you would wish to be treated yourself.
If I hire anything , or help neighbour out I always treat kit as if its mine and look after it.
Can't...
Well they are greased regularly I wouldn't say neglected.
But I seem to need new bearings every 500 hours. But I'm carrying a 3m Khun power harrow and it's a lot of weight , spinning around turning stresses front wheels and no idea how threads were damaged it has a couple of washers on to take...
We've had 420mm since 1st October, never seen fields in such a state, lakes everywhere. It dried on top for a week, neighbour , redrilled some fields ,and they are now underwater again , so that's 2 drillings he's lost.
Changing wheel bearings , stub axle threads worn , have put 2 washers on as a spacer to find good threads.
What's easiest way to repair this properly, can I use a die to cut new threads into old ones , use a slightly smaller nut , or Is there a better way.
Compaction .compaction , why is everything so BIG and HEAVY.

Know a guy who likes fishing at night.
He sat at River Bank and other side of River was gypo camp , he said it was all quiet til 11,30pm then camp seemingly sprang into action ,vans ,pick ups, the usual pikey vehicles coming and going til about 04.30 then all quiet again.
How hard would it be...
There's a 24inch main down the road with an air valve on top that has been leaking like a sieve for weeks it's been reported but as it's such a large pipe they can't shut it off as it needs the right box to be ticked , in the meantime 1000s of litres are lost every day and the water company...
What idiot thought it a good idea to Bury oil filter where you can't see it , and have to be a contortionist to get at it.
And a fuel filter you can see but struggle to access it to replace it. Either find someone with small hands or take it off it's mounting point .
Surely all service items...
I used to think job adverts that said "must be able to work on own initiative " we're stating the obvious, however over the year s I have come to the conclusion that actually people can't. Folks can't or won't think for themselves, thinking outside the box ,they can't even find the bleedin...
Shouldn't make any difference, I've got a mower ,power harrow , both with the arrangement pictured both on machine end.
Engage pto as SLOW as possible, with no revs at all. I had a McConnell topper, with just such an arrangement and you had to be very sympathetic in engaging pto or it would...
A neighbour was looking into buying a direct drill, the grants available for this at the time sparked his interest, til it became apparent the grant was only available on 6m or bigger, if this is true then yet again skewed in favour of the big boys.
