I have recently acquired myself a TS59, YLs set up on 11 inch furrows with an adjustable headstock.
I always assumed YLs were on 10 inch work ? So should the front leg be on the inside of the frame ? My Rear Wheel centres are 52 on a FE35 tractor.
Compared to my old TS54 - the boards seem to be...
Which is the better older Round Baler baler - Vicon 1601 or a Welger RP200.
It’s mainly for hay / haylage - 40 acres so not a huge area but am wanting to be able to do it in house. Both are low count but the Vicon is a more ££ in comparison and also a variable v fixed chamber.
Is there much...
I’m looking at getting myself a round baler. Only covering about 75 acres straw and 50 acres grass/ hay of my own
Just wondering what would be a good make / model to consider, ideally bale hay as 4fts and straw 5fts.
New Holland seem quite good value, John Deere 590’s / welfare’s seem to...
Has any one got one of these combined browns slitter and Harrow?
I have a 6 meter harrow with wizard seeder which is too big for most paddock work.
I have a rigid browns slitter and contemplating getting the rear Harrow attachment or 3 rows spring tines.
The slitters can drop out with 8...
Running an older B577 Bomford hedge cutter - it has the boot style and shackle flails which are getting worn now.
Flails direct have a competition flail option for the older Bomford cutters - is anyone using these?
Above tractor has lost its hydraulic lift and spool function. I’ve cleaned the suction filter and new filters and looked clean and it’s made no difference.
Steering and brakes work fine. No spool flow and lift arms barely move. If you put the tractor on full steering lock and then hold the...
I have been looking at getting a drop side trailer which can double up for grain, but also equip it with a bale extension to be a useful flatbed trailer. Looking on google there are many makes and models, but I see some of the bigger trailers can be equipped with ramps to load a digger / tractor...
Have a hydraulic pipe that has split running from this housing then going under the cab. Its the longer pipe.
Anyone know where it goes to.. is it a cab tilt job or access through the floor ?
What are the things to look out for on these tractors ? Good / bad points ? Previous experience tells me they were quite a reliable tractor, but obviously I was younger and they too were younger with less hours.
I know some had left hand reverses and also the power quad plus with buttons rather...
Looking for an older baler ( low end budget) ideally net wrap over string, will be mainly doing 4ft hay bales and barley straw. Nothing fancy, just finding conventional bales more of a hassle now.
Presume looking at Claas Rollant, welgar, older jd’s etc.
Any pointers or any for sale ....
much...
Looking at what systems people have found worked well. I’m on a bit of a budget - It’s primarily on smaller kit,3 meter, for the equestrian world and also improvement of summer grazed marshes. I like the look of the browns slitter with attached following spring Harrow and stocks unit mounted on...
Apologies if this is in the wrong area!
I was only knee height in the mid 80’s and I’m interested in the history of some of the local dealers that have come and gone in the past. My grey gold was Boston tractors, the 135 was supplied by Oliver Rix, the 565 has a riches and a larkmans sticker on...
A friend of mine has a 3070 with the A/B box. The tractor is in very good order and is certainly a keeper as it’s only used for hay making each year.
I’ve heard about when the A/B goes wrong it’s pretty nasty. Is this a costly thing to check and / or replace before it may go wrong? Or false...
