Hi - i've just pulled a cracked liner from an IH 444 and found the the water galleries around the liners is half packed with rusty sludge. My options are to try and pressure wash as much as I can from the block, or pull the remaining 3 liners without damaging them to thoroughly clean the block...
What's the best way to deal with badly ovalled wheel nut holes in a tractor rear wheel rim?
I was thinking of welding the hole closed - then re drilling the wheel stud hole with a mag drill and broaching cutter - then putting the taper seat back in using a chamfer countersinking bit.

Hi - my 444 has an AC Delco glass sediment bowl and i'm needing a replacement rubber gasket. Its approx 67mm OD and 49mm ID and 2mm thick.
I cant seem to find anyone that has a gasket this big - most other tractor sediment bowls are much smaller.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Hi - is the IH serial number stamped anywhere on the older IH tractors , 434, 444 etc - other than the aluminium plate rivetted on the side of the gearbox?
Is there a way to match engine numbers to serial numbers as well - or is there a date stamp somewhere on the engine block?
Any IH experts...

Hi - 2 of the the quick release couplings on the back of the tractor (IH 685) are dripping steadily when they are connected, but dry when not. I can see a rubber o-ring inside the connector which i suspect has become hardened or deformed over time.

Hi does anyone know what position the control rods should be in on the metering rings? There seem to be multiple points to hook the two rods into that come from the control handle. Thanks

Does anyone know how to adjust the tension on the drive chain that goes from the hydraulic motor to the turntable?
Managed to snap the chain and have a new chain to put on - but its too tight to get it on and adding a half link makes the chain too slack. The old chain is about a quarter link...
Given the current weather the hay looks ready to 'make' at 3 days when normally we give it at least 4 days from cut.
The forecast is still looking good - so should we just leave it another few days to make sure - or does it lose something from 'overdrying'? I'm aware that continual tedding...
