Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think we need to be doing more regular sampling. We're probably quiet guilty of sampling when a field has a visible problem. Mainly slurry spread in April then again in June after 1st cut and again sept at 2500 gallon a acre ruffle. Any reseed usually gets...
Ph levels are fine we actually used beach sand due to the fact it's free. Takes longer to work but seems to have done the job.
We're not in a Nvz zone. Have a few that's a bit low maybe. How often do sample your soil?
Was hoping sampling our slurry I would get a better idea if we are putting...
We already soil test which is certainly worthwhile doing. We got quiet a shock when we got the ph levels of some of our fields. Put a lot of sand on and had big improvement in silage quality.
I have a 6290 that's needing panels repaired
I thought before I start cutting and welding I would ask and see if anyone new where and how much second hand one were.
I have a steel frame building that's legs are rotten and need replacing. Was thinking of replacing one leg at a time by jacking up the rafter and cutting the old one out and sliding in a new galved one sounds easy.
Was wondering if anyone has done this and has any advice on how to do it best
Coming to think about it they didn't like the outlets being reduced and pumping too far so prob won't be much use for a umbilicle system like speedster says.
Used these pumps when we did work on sewers and they seemed to be able to shift a lot o sh!t quick without too much effort would be worth a try if you have one already
We have a machine that can feed up to 40 at a time. Best money we ever spent calfs do a lot better on it than they did on buckets and frees up a lot of time in the day all you need to do is make sure it's full of milk powder and check that the calfs have been up for ther milk
Buy a second hand speed glass one. Your totally right to be concerned about the fumes there not nice and doesn't take much grinding or welding to make you I'll. Thers been a few times I have thought I was dying after welding galvanised steel without proper ventilation or mask

Not sure if you can get these for propane but def worthwhile having one in the tool box
You get a sheet cutting nozzle for acetylene for cutting under 4mm.
They have a narrow rectangular end way a step so you can cut with the nozzle tight on the steel does a real nice job if you can't justify a plasma cutter
