    Massey 6480 2012 model.

Hello, Just asking about a large yellow ‘fuse’ that controls the cab suspension system. I needed to remove this to stop the compressor draining air from the suspension cylinders. The cylinders are now pumped to about 40psi and seem to be holding up fine after removing this ‘fuse’. My question...

New air filter for Massey 6150

As above, can anyone suggest where is the best place to get a reasonably priced new air filter for my MF 6150? Ideally needs to be from a retailer that is prepared to gift wrap it, attach a nice red bow, and to include a suitable gift tag that is left blank apart from a featured sprig of holly...

So how many farmers have recently left the NFU?

As per the title. The Minette Batters thread is well established, and largely reflects a damning indictment of the NFU’s complicity in the self perpetuating role of the Red Tractor debacle. As I have stated, twice, in this thread I have recently resigned from the NFU on principle. How many...

Retro fitting boom suspension to JCB

As per the title really. Does anyone know if I could retro fit boom suspension to a 2010 JCB 536.60 Agri Plus model, and if so what would the cost be please? I know the Agri Super model has it as standard but I know the service history of my machine but would prefer it with suspension if poss...

    Heavy steering on Massey 3095

As above really. Any ideas why the steering on my 4WD 3095 seems heavier than it should be? TIA.

Johnson signs up to the Daily Wail.

The Wail has jumped into the swamp to attempt an heroic rescue of the stinking sinking fat clown. Along with the Moggster and Mad Nad and other cretins, the Mail and the Daily Express seem determined to back the biggest liar, buffoon and charlatan ever recorded in Prime Ministerial history. So...

    Wrapping hay, experiences please.

Regarding wrapping round bale hay. I did some last year, partly because I thought it might be slightly too damp for hay; and the majority were opened as perfectly good sweet hay in the winter. Another batch however were not quite so good, many were good but several had a percentage of mould...

    Ford 7910 fwd 1984

Anyone got some details of these tractors please? It’s an A regd 7910 with Ford bubble cab and 4 wheel drive. Not seen it properly yet as too far away, but seems in ok condition and drives and pulls really well apparently. Did all these have Dual Power as standard, what engine power are they...

    Seized bale spikes.

As above. Have a twin bale spike with loose 30” tines. No way will they tighten or loosen with a 3/4” socket on the nut and a stilson on the square section of tine nearest the tapered bush. The 18” stilsons are grounded against concrete and there is no way a standard 3/4 drive tee bar is going...

    Who next for PM?

What will the Tories pull out next from their bottomless pit of clowns and clockwork zombies when Truss is given the heave ho? Everyone thought that Boris was the utter and absolute nadir of how low prime ministerial standards could fall. Surely anybody would be better than he for God’s sake...

Will feed barley price meet buyer resistance?

If feed barley heads up towards £300/tonne delivered will it become uneconomic for livestock producers to buy? PS Posted it on the cropping forum as I know that if was put on the Livestock page the answers would all be ‘yes’!

Massey Dyna VT v Dyna 6.

Is the VT transmission reliable and durable? Tempted by VT but I notice that used prices seem to be slightly less than comparable Dyna 6 models. Be looking at something like 2015-18 models about 160-200 hp. Any opinions and experiences welcome. TIA.

Salvation! We are to be saved!

Thank God! Not only has the government officially declared that there is a drought; but Thank The Lord, NRW ( Natural Resources Wales) have said that they are ‘monitoring the situation’. So just when we thought that all was lost, the government have stepped in to declare an official drought...

Maize looking spiky in the heat?

As above, seems that some forage Maize, that ostensibly loves the heat and sunshine, is looking a bit spiky and rather unhappy this past couple of days. Not wishing to sound overtly pessimistic, but I find that being so means that I am rarely disappointed. Every morning when I get up, I have a...

    Any more for any more?

So, it seems that the world and his wife (or the world and their as yet undecided gender neutral, pan sexual or polygender transexual partner) is standing for the role of PM. Among those as yet undecided whether or not to throw their hat into the ring are: Basil Brush Bill The Flowerpot Man Mr...

Anyone fancy a job as a member of the Cabinet?

Christ above: he was only promoted yesterday and he’s already done a runner! Other notable rats joining Nadhim Zahawi in scurrying off the decks of The Good Ship BoJo include Gove, Shapps, Pritti Patel, Kwasi Kwarteng, Kermit the Frog and Mr Pastry. As fast as BoJo appoints a new crew member...

Eco PTO for driving 770 hay tedder.

Is it okay to use Eco PTO (540@1550erpm) to drive a six rotor tedder? Tractor is a six cylinder Massey 6480 and would be running at only 1300 erpm instead of about 1700. Is the eco PTO designed to for this sort of thing at such low revs?

Do any Massey tractors post 6200 series have opening sun roofs?

Every Massey I have owned including 3000, 6100 and 6200 series have all had sun roofs. Went to see two 6480s today and neither had an opening sun roof (nor working air con) which made them like hot houses! Do any Massey tractors post 6200 series have opening sun roofs? TIA.

    Rhetorical question, but pressing.

There can be no logical answer to this: but it has to be a question that any rational person globally is asking. How can one man, or rather one revolting monster, bring so much death, destruction and utter misery to so many millions of people; and ultimately be in a position to threaten to...

Ideal time for all farmers with any common sense to tell farm assurance schemes to go to hell.

As above, we are on the brink of worldwide food shortage, if not even worse. What better time can there ever be for all farmers with any common sense to tell Red Tractor and all other farm assurance rackets to go to hell? As ever of course there will be some who won’t, and they will take the...
