Ad blue £1 litre was what I was quoted on Friday , along with £1.35 litre for bloody red is simply not viable , if it’s a wet harvest we will all be f#%ked.
Looking at buying a pottinger 620 rake , it’s a 2009 model , trailed , fixed width. What are they like for rowing up in silage for baling and have they any problems to look out for .
Opico 6 m air Harrow drill here, on our third one now, doing 1500 acres a season with it , very versatile drill, sowing grass, clover, turnips, mustard etc , good results.
The ground nesting birds haven’t a hope in hell of rearing their chicks up here nowadays, farms are overrun with badgers, foxes and buzzards never seen as many before.
We run new tractors here on hedgers and they are not trashed !!!, our last 6830 is now 8 years old with 16k hours on and when hedger is off you wouldn’t know it did hedge cutting.
The cost of these tractors now are absolutely mental, bought a new 6155r top spec 16 months ago for £89k and now they are £121k !!! Nae surprise that case are getting very popular round me , 165 hp case is £32 k cheaper ffs ??
Things are bad down here in borders. Harvest has hardly even started yet, laid crops everywhere, no straw bales, rape and wheat sprouting , ground bottomless, it’s not good.
Same here, never had an injector replacement on any off our deeres, all dun 16k hrs then moved on, last 6830 is 12 plate with 11000 hrs , only had a turbo replacement in that time.
Two contractors not far from me, both running single belt fusions, one baler only done 2500k and belt shredded because crap can't get out of rollers.
Other baler on third set of belts after 12000k bales, not all silo bales !!!, single belt is not the answer in this area.
