‘The interigation of Tony Martin’

It would make no difference, the crunch of the case was that he shot the thieving criminal in the back. Had it been the front he would not have gone to jail. TM won his release from prison early because the original conviction was based on expert evidence that he was in a particular location when he fired the shot(s) subsequently this was proved to be wrong and his murder conviction was reduced to manslaughter.

He was released early because the appeal court accepted that when he used his pump action shotgun to shoot the two burglars he was suffering from diminished responsibility.

The crime was therefore reduced from murder to manslaughter.

Nothing to do with where he was standing when he fired the pump action shotgun.

Diminished responsibility.

Been at The Midlands Machinery Show at Newark. Saw an older gentleman looking at bits and bobs on a couple of stands. I looked again thinking I new him from somewhere. 99.9% sure it was Tony Martin. Even had his berry on like he had on the other night.

So have any of the Tony 'there's nothing diminished about me' Martin fan club on here sought to distance themselves from his publicly expressed support for Hitler's treatment of Gypsies?

You have asked this question on numerous occasions - since you have a standing policy of not answering questions do you really expect anyone to rise to this fly?

Has anyone endorsed Mr Martins views on Hitler's treatment of gypsies?

Is this not a bit like saying that everyone who has voted for Jeremy Corbyn (or the 'Labour' Party) is by association an anti-semite?

@Fallowfield , I look forward to you publicly 'distancing yourself' from this disgraceful and racist organisation.

As you said: "Show me your friends and I'll tell you what you are."

Judging by the amount of extra traffic he generates, I'm starting to wonder if he's not a WalterP replacement created by management.;)
I said something similar weeks ago. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it does no harm for us farmers to be given an alternative view but Fallowfield's patronising, snide way of giving it just winds people up and most of us come on here after a busy day for some light relief not to put up with all that and if it carries on they need banned.

Hover your mouse pointer over your screen name (top right) and a menu will drop down. Select 'ignore' and type in the name of your chosen victim. Voila! You'll never see him again!;)

No, you don't have to put up with it.

There is the 'ignore' facility if you wish to remain blinkered.

Free speech, fine. No issues with that, I have debated with him before but the ivy doesn’t kill trees chat sealed the deal of me.

My gripe here is when you ignore someone then try and read a thread which he keeps commenting on, it’s really hard to follow the thread as it doesn’t flow.

I don’t think there is a way to avoid this, my point is every comment he makes ruins the reading ease of that thread thereafter.

Where they like the lovely, honest , hard working , tax paying , law biding gipsies we have in the UK?

My wife had a book written by a traveller woman, an autobiography.

She wrote that travellers mostly look down on the settled folk, see property as fair game and rule of law as optional.

We used to employ traveller folk for spring seasonal work and they could graft, hard workers, good folk. But woe betide anyone who crossed them! Mistakenly told them the wrong price per bunch one day and almost got lynched when they returned (at speed) with wages from the office. Lesson learned.

The demise of cash in hand working broke the relationship between the travellers and farm labouring, and they moved on to bigger things with better incomes.

Few yr ago I had to sort out a pretty horrible extortion attempt by a group of travelling "roadmen" on my 70yr old father as he returned from a funeral. Long story, but they went away with £950 for doing feckall and we kept our windows whole and machinery unburnt.

Good and bad folk in every sector of society.
