I have a lamb (see video) that is 1 month old who had a touch of scald on all four feet. I caught him and treated him with Iodine and Zinc sulfate which took care of the scald in a day or so. He was in with a group of lambs his own age for a few days before I found him lying down and not able to walk on his front feet. His mum and brother are both fine. His sibling as had scald which I treated at the same time.

I have isolate him and his sibling with his mum so he will not be run over by the other lambs. His mom feeds him and looks after him even with him scooting around on his front knees. I am beginning to think this is some form of neurological damage. Perhaps he was stepped on by another ewe or something. Today i gave him another exam and he barely felt the light jab of a 25 gauge needle. He does not have a fever or any swelling in the joints. I have considered sway back and joint ill but I am not seeing the relationship to those in this case.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

The only thing I can think is is he has pain in his front feet if he isn't showing a raised temperature. Anti-inflamatory plus pen rest for a week wouldn't cause harm.

Have you checked for any puncture wounds in hoof or between toes?
