I need a 12v winch for a project, not to expensive ideally, but all the ones I can find only have 15m of cable on them, I could do with double that ! Anyone got any ideas ? I could go hydraulic but would rather stay electric ! Thanks in advance
why do you need a 30m ? an electric winch like an 8274 warn can have the drum extended easily and Id recommend you use a plasma rope over the cable.........................................................................................
Depends what sort of pulling force you are after. Most 12v winches designed for land rovers are around the 25-30m pull. A warn xd9000i is 38m but big bucks.
It's to pull large branches out of the bottom of a slope, not trees just large branches, I was going to fabricate something so it fitted on to the drawbar of the guys 135, they just need dragged up the slope to cut and spilt
Plenty of 12v winches about 2nd hand, yes you do take a chance buying used but there are bargains about. I got a 12500lb t-max 12v winch that had recently been rebuilt for £80. You buy solid state solonoid pack £40 and get a wireless remote for less than a tenner off ebay. You can control the winch from the hook end with no lead to get fouled
If you want a winch with no limit on rope look at a capstan winch, maybe get something from a nautical source.
