13T digger mulcher

Any suggestions or recommendations for mulcher head for a 2012 hitachi 13T digger?

I've been looking at Ghedini and serrat.

I have seen an arbocut 2000 which does seem a great machine but it is over 10k.

I already have a ferri flail hedge cutter with hammer knives on our hitachi 5ton which seems good for the size but we need something for the heavier/overgrown material.

Why a mulcher over a saw blade? I have a flail head and a saw (single spinning disk that I use on a 6.5m Mcconnel but because the saw does so much damage to the tractor I was considering putting a saw on a Zaxis 130. Just interested to know why people want to use a mulcher.

Saw is the most dangerous thing. I would never drive a machine with one.
I have a saw on a komastu pc130 and it is working about 27-30 ft from the cab and nothing hits the cab . Great machine for heavy work , can take a lot heavier than a mulcher , plus a mulcher only wrecks a heavy hedge .

James what brand saw are u using and did u modify the digger to allow you to track and saw at the same time.
Depends how much oil flow is being taken from the hammer circuit, but I expect it could be full flow. 360s aren’t designed to track and hammer at the same time, so the oil will take the path of least resistance = the saw will slow down or the tracking will severely slow down (or both).

I’d recommend a Seppi.

Pheasant surprise that’s what I was told but for less than 1k Euros a valve and some hose gets around that problem. There’s a lad here in the west of Ireland who sells saws and mods the machine to handle it.

You can put a priority type valve on it, but the pump needs to be up to the output also. Flails especially can take all the flow (and then some) from a hammer line. The best types have manually adjustable variable swash piston motors that you can set the swash to suit the available oil flow and desired rotor rpm.

Track motors will always take priority in the machine as it demands the most oil.

It isn't that big of a deal for the 13T as you have the reach. In the 5T we have learnt to work with it.
