Hi, I'm looking mostly for land at the moment a small patch 1-2 acres around the christchurch area. I work 20hrs+ a week to fund myself and I have roughly 18 months of experience working with chickens and waterfowl, sheep, goats, pigs, cattle up to 1 year old and limited experience with horses and donkeys I have done basically every maintenance task that comes with sheep anywhere from building the fences to treating fly strike . If I can find some land and a nice landowner I am planning on raising Black welsh mountain sheep and KuneKune pigs by strip grazing them with a electric fence. Any advice in getting started would also be super helpful. Thanks.

Firstly, I think you should be sectioned in you want to work with sheep !! :D

I think the sheep grazing will be easier than finding someone that wants their field trashed by pigs. Perhaps a small veg grower might be where to start, as pigs rooting up the ground will be good for growing veg in after they have been moved.

Good luck finding somewhere. Don't hesitate to ask questions on here if you need any advice.

On sellmylivestock welshies are around £50-80
Pigs and Welshies behind electric on rented ground sounds mental. I'd concentrate on one (sheep, personally) and forget the other for a while. Welshies at cull money aren't going to be great, if you can up your budget a touch and go for something quieter that respects boundaries lower than Jurassic Park you will likely keep your sanity and new landlord friends slightly longer

Yeah that's one idea as I work orphan lambs wont be doable but I have considered store lambs later in the year but would first need the land secured before the sheep

Welsh sheep, khuni pigs and electric fencing just don't work together unless you want to upset your neighbours .
First job , find some ground then why not buy a few sets of couples in the spring ,try and buy with ewe lambs at foot .
....if you got pigs as well then you soon won't have any grass !
