Going to look at a JCB 524 50 year 2006 which has 7000 hours.
It has a Perkins non turbo engine , I know JCB fitted Dieselmax engines to later model 524 50 .Was the Perkins engine in these a good engine or was the JCB Dieselmax a better job ?
Having 7000 hours could it be a money pit , needing lots of repairs ?

Like 520-40 and that series, check main Boom Pivot Pin at rear for Bushes wear etc, just lift the boom at 45 degrees, pull tipping lever back, and as it hit's the stops watch the rear Pivot Pin and Boom Kick - and just rock the headstock a little forward and hard back against the stops - this operation shows up any side boom mounted TH, also at the same time watch for the main boom ram jump up showing wear on the bottom pin/eye. All TH with this off set head design wear the front lhs (from Seat) wear pads but you can see this if you stand in front of the machine, the machine has a good reputation in the trade and the 4 cyl Perkins or JCB Engine are good in this machine.
