I see in Bayer's recent Proline adverts they're claiming 0.55l/ha Proline at a T1 timing gives a good reduction in Ear blight (haven't the advert to hand but I think it was a 50% reduction).
Also they say Proline at T3 timing offer the best control of Fusarium? (yes, I know they would say that!).
They say never do this season what you should of done last season. But surely from the seed stock there must be a very high risk of Fusarium, so you've got to use everything in the armoury?
So will many have Prothioconazole as the chosen T1 triazole? If the claims are true of superior fusarium control then as all things are about equal then it gets the nod over epoxiconazole? Well I suppose the thing against it is the lack of Generic competition.
This weeks FW and this months Crops, have articles citing that Chlorothalonil must be used. I think an article said its offered 70% Septoria control when used as a protectant for over 30 years of trials data and the level of control has not budged an inch.
I was planning to use Tracker and Bravo at GS31, but think Proline may be in the mix now...
