So only four livestock pictures out of fourty then! Pretty poor show.

If I can just say, Dave came to my place to take some livestock photos a year back. He'd not done livestock shots before and wanted some practice. I'm - of course - delighted with the results.

We at the Forum asked Dave of Farming photography if he'd like to compile a calendar for TFF based on his fantastic arable / machinery compositions. I actually lobbied to have NO livestock this time round:

1) Dave wants to get more in to meeting breeders and stockmen over the coming year
2) I want some more "selection pressure" on the livestock choices (eg breeds, types, situations)
3) It was already a nightmare to cut down the choice on the arable side

2015 is a different ball game ;)

I like the thought of "working" livestock studies too

e.g. Prattley set ups in full sway, livestock loading docks at Hawes gimmer sales or Ashford store sales, sheep dogs on the hills etc

I think @Dave Franciosy should give up photographing those smelly, dusty machines and take up livestock photography:D. @JP1 those cattle photographs are absolutely superb(y)(y)(y)(y). I think a new enterprise beckons - TFF cards and notelets:)

ps only joking about the machinery photographs, the best ones will be breathtaking if they are A4 size:cool:. I was also pleased to see that my choices were mostly similar to the other voters.

Thank you and I can promise they weren't digitally enhanced either. That red calf goes to the bull next Spring, how time flies eh :)

Cracking looking cattle. What breed are they? Best not let head office see them or I can see me having to buy some!
Thanks

They're Galloways. Red pointed white Galloways (on Belted Galloway herd book white register), solid red Galloways (on Galloway Cattle Society herd book) and (my favourite) Riggit Galloways (RGCS herd book) . Societies eh
