I understand from a very good source they are 70% short for coming season.saw in local paper, the eastern daily press they were advertising how good and profitable it was to grow beet.as long as you don’t mind being treated to their satisfaction and don’t mind having your soil buggered up it’s fine

Has anyone had a phone call from a lovely lady at bs asking if youd like to grow more beet. My answer was yes I would.....when you start offering a decent price.

From her reaction I think she may have heard similar from others???????
I told my rep much the same. I wanted £2 / t extra but was told bs don't do individual deals.
When he asked regarding late deliveries ( Feb) I said only if you underwrite my sugars at 17%.
Again, bs don't do individual deals.
They are very short so if they are reading this they know what they need to do.

IMO thats the nub of the problem...if the collective bargaining was abandoned it'd be a lot better....thought that for years

@carbonfibre farmer Was the coffee up to the standard that hes become accustomed to up the heath?????

Our last beet going seems a distant memory now I'm rearing to start again with the next beet crop now.

The last of ours going all loaded of the same dirt pad and we tipped on it twice, all loaded over the side and tares that were a good 2% below factory average. He isn't a bad leader driver to be honest[emoji848]?
