WB on all our clays here now effectively dead, having not responded to the second or third doses of N.

One alternative to WB would have been SB planted before 07 March, which would now be equally dead, or sometime after 20 April, which might do 2t-4t/Ha. based on past experience.

Fortunately, for some reason or other we decided to replace 80% of our WB this year with second wheats.

Cue next take-all thread.

Spring barley drilled Feb 25th has finally got to tillering now, it’s looked pale since it emerged but is looking far happier in the last two days

Put the row crop wheels on to finish the N on the OSR, it would be great if I could keep them on, but iirc I'll be squashing everything with the 650s again soon :(

Another couple of weeks here with all the rain coming in from the east will do us just fine - staying mostly dry here.

But not so good later in May, and June.
