Agree from the point that less land available for food production should mean more higher price for the produce but if you're renting it might not be a good thing?

Less land in production means a smaller industry. See the various threads talking about 'critical mass'.

Presumably Labour are going to ensure all their new houses are going t have compulsory pv roofs, because that's where panels belong, not on farmland.

Over 2000 new houses being built near me and and not a single one with a solar panel on their roofs….should be government enforced that any new builds have at least one side of the roof covered in solar panels and a water catchment tank for recycling water for toilets

They should be plumbed for community heat and power, and be run by incinerating waste and small scale sewage AD.

New builds & warehouses should be built to the specifications we know are needed - solar, dirty water recycling etc etc etc.

It’s getting to that point with output prices where they are that’s it not worth bothering and it’s nothing to do with solar farms.

Agree with this, all new developments should be built with the future in mind not just chucked up for the cheapest price.
They shouldn't be built on good food producing land either if alternatives are possible. That goes for renewable energy production and any other non Ag use too. Prime Ag land should be used for food production only.

None of that is popular with developers or landowners/farmers though so will never happen.
