2nd cut ground depletion?

Managed to take the silage cut earlier than normal this year, which is an unusual scenario! I’m thinking of pushing on for a second cut, which I don’t normally do because it’s hill ground and normally silage is made late July/August. But the elder is warning me of the impact on the ground of taking a second cut. I can’t find any info as to how accurate this is, I figure as long as you’re putting back in enough you can take more away?

Not wanting to hijack thread but hopefully on the same lines,
how much N.P.K from a bag do you need to put back for every tonne of green hay you take from a field if it will not be fed back to the same field?
