I've a jcb 320s 13 in year the forward and reverse botton on the joystick takes a min to engage the gear wat could sort it

Does the screen show in gear as soon as switch is in fwd

It takes a couple of seconds can u change the switch

Probably the coil has gone weak or the spool is seizing if its the same as our side boom loadalls

like I say if same as ours the blue coil that operates the spool could have gone weak and not drawing the shaft as quick as it should or the valve is sticking .You could try swiping the blue coil over, screw of the retaining ring and should slide of shaft you should be able to identify them by putting into gear and holding a thin washer of feeler gauge on the coil to see what one has some magnetic pull, To be fair its a long time since we had any problems on transmission at has been on steering valves causing similar issues
