If you or the old man are handy with the spanners I have a Freelander TD4 with a good engine and gearbox but knackered body up the field. Not far away in Hampshire.
oh how kind. BUT not handy neither is the OH (musician!). Could ask the very handy lad who works for me tomorrow though - he might know what to do. Can you message me your number?

I bought a 1999 td5 disco last year for £1500 with 12 month mot on it, best £1500 ever spent its only done 100k. I've put some mud terrain tyres on and now it will go literally anywhere!!! and with 7 seats it's good for taking everyone to the pub!!

Total rot boxes ,,the sills are common to fail ,,Ford Maverick with a different jacket ,,I nearly got one until the lads at the garage said avoid like the plague
The lads at the garage were very wrong then. My current one is 20 years old, £1200 off ebay and not a spot of rust on it. I'll admit the front wings usually go but that's no big deal.
Other than that they very rarely go wrong and even if they do it is usually less than £100 to fix it.
Had half a dozen or so now and no intention of looking anywhere else while they are available.

I buy them for about £1k off ebay, run them a few years until I either kill them or just get bored and get a different one. No servicing, don't even check the oil.
