60° vs 67° cone on feed bin.

Going back to parlour feeding this spring and need to order a silo. So, does the assembled wisdom on here recommend either of the above cone angles for a bin which will feed either compounds or bulk blown blends. Advertising blurb suggests 67° but wanted to know whether it was worth worrying about?

FWIW , I would avoid blends in a bin. If there is any moisture or heat in the mix, it will stick to the sides no matter what the angle of dangle. We are always twatting the side of our heifer bin which holds blend but never touch the cow parlour bin which is nut only.
Key is auger size and not having a huge amount ahead of you to allow dust etc to build
As a matter of interest , the heifer bin is coned at 67deg whist the nut bin is straight down in to an auger boot

Interesting, so we are leaning towards a 90mm auger over 75 and this sounds worth it in your view? I am trying to allow for extending augers into a flip top silo alongside in the future to feed home mixes if it is worth it financially. Possibly the way to feed blends rather than fudging up a silo?

Always go big if you can

We home mix but savings really only accrue on relatively large numbers as it does tie up staff that may be better employed on other jobs
