6480 backend filter light on.

15micron light on today so took that filter out and their was filings in it and the oil. Had half axle bearing and shaft trouble about 300 hrs ago new filters and oil replaced then, could this just be bits and pieces from that trouble?

Possibly. It has been suggested after mechanical repairs to transmission parts that you do a couple of short oil and filter changes. I know in one of our old machines the second oil change still had a lot of silver coming out with it.
