650/85r38 vs 710/70r42

Currently have a tractor on 650/85r38s that are coming ready for a change, has anyone experience of using 710/70r42 instead? I find the 650s a bit too narrow for field work, most hours put on the tyres are on the road tho.

It will depend on tyre brand but if you look up specs of trelleborg I think it was there is only about 10 mm difference in width. Could be a bit more as that is 5 year old info from memory

Ok, thought the 42s would be steadier on the road as well with the sidewalls being a bit shallower

Youl be fit to run the 650s at less pressure cause of the extra volume of air so wont be much difference in carrying capacity

The air volumes are actually pretty similar, I normally run them at 20 psi + as it’s on a tanker and long draws
