I'm looking for a large ceiling fan for my cow shed, has anyone come across one?

I've seen the USA made big ass fans but they are very expensive and I would prefer one from closer to home.

there is a place near which does motor rewinds and recons and he has always got old but good motors about the place
if he had one that was a slow turner It wouldn't be too hard to fit some blades surely

[quotreeblesykes, post: 112060, member: 1900"]poultry house 4 or 5 ft belt drive fans, you need some airspeed for venting, batting air around with great big slow paddles will do very little

The reason for 1 fan is cost of running (1000 watt motor) there all the rage in the us, local large herd has 1 and rate it.

without air speed a fan is pointless you need to move the air away not slowly recirulate

I would have though the best way to get good ventilation would be an extractor fan in the roof. Forget moving air about, get rid of the hot air and cooler air will take its place.
