Forager fire

This fire came two days after Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue received a call reporting a farm forager on fire in Broomfield.

Fire crews from Taunton, Bridgwater, Nether Stowey, Wellington attended the fire on Friday (April 19).

Two fire engines and a water bowser were initially sent until, on arrival, the crews confirmed that the forager was well alight and the fire had spread to a crop field.

A further two fire engines and 2 off-road vehicles were sent.

The fire was in a forager in a 14ac field and was fuelled by high winds, Devon & Somerset Fire and Rescue said.

It was extinguished using two hose reel jets and one main jet.
