A D plant question.

From you answer I don't know if my question is specific enough to be answered as I have very limited information. The only facts I know is it is an AD plant based on using as much poultry litter in the mix as possible, I was just looking for a generalisation if that was possible.

For example I use 3t of boiler litter in a 30t daily feed. I do not have to use any Nitrogen inhibitors at this rate, but I do keep an eye on the N levels in the sample.

It is very difficult to answer this, other than by giving a general 6.5 to 8.0, however keeping a stable process with high volumes of N is a challenge that requires a bespoke solution. Without detail, the information I have provided is of little use.

There are many types of Poultry Manure varying in DM level and Nutrient balance, this has a big impact on the volumes you can use as well as process temperature and retention times. Also what pre-treatment is best as well as the availability of liquid.

Thanks for your answers, sorry for being so vague but I'm in the poultry business not the AD business. Our processor who supplies the feed, chicks and takes the litter seems to have changed the feed to our detriment as it has raised the pH of the litter and I was wondering if there was an AD reason behind it.
