I made one for ours, same trailer but had box bolted to headboard & was cutting wide tyres, also put a light inside it wired off the sidelights, handy looking straps in the dark.
Hadn’t thought of that. The box looks quite big when the trailer was upside down and and it’s just a frame but now the trailer is back on its wheels it looks shallow and wide so visibility will be poor.

Coat of zinc oxide on the trailer waiting for some gloss to arrive. Mean while sorting the wiring to allow the lights to be fitted after painting

I think these hinges are probably older than any body reading this they were salvaged from my old mans first trailer probably made in about 1940’s

@v8willy and 2 of the cheapest LED lights I could find on eBay for the inside of the box. I’ll wire them to the side lights. If I was feeling really keen I could have a momentary switch mounted inside the door so they came on when the door was opened.

If your going using that trailer to move diggers I personally wouldn't put creosote on the top of the timbers, it I'd be like a skating rink to steel pads.

What do we think about laying rubber belting, and running on that

Most lads that run lorry’s and low loaders do it and they have shifted more diggers than most of us! Personally don’t do it at work but might when we get a new low loader save the deck a bit. If you do lay rubber you need to lift it after use or it traps water and rots the floor quicker
