After locking the steering solid whilst on the road yesterday thought I should investigate. Bottom bearing race completely worn away, been told parts not available, local bearing suppliers can’t help so after just 5 seasons looks like it’s destined for the scrap bin. Feeling a little disappointed after such a short service life.

Bit more than a disappointment  I take it that’s comes from a CNH dealer? The amount these kits cost that’s outrageous!! I’ve the clamp on steering wheel type and mines locked up once or twice but only for a nanosecond, so I’ll look forward to the failure in a few years time

Christ thats worrying if it locked solid on the road let alone the fact its failed. Dealer not willing to help in anyway?
Was a little concerning at the time. Have an excellent dealer that’s always willing to help, but at 5 years old and parts not available it’s not really fair to expect them to sort it.

When did they stop manufacturing the item. Over here the manufacturer would have to be able to support their products for at least 7 years after they stop making them.

I’d be surprised if it is different there, also as that looks to be a product that was also sold here there should be spares in the system

I think it’s still available. Was told it’s a non serviceable item. Not sure I want another. Bit scary when it locks up at road speed.

I’m pretty sure these are serviceable now. They weren’t at the beginning but they are now.
It needs to be shipped to Germany for repair.
