So today I ran Darlington 10k in aid of prostate cancer, having lost my grandad to it and dad having the odd scare with it and earlier this year my dad lost his best friend to it ….a year ago I decided I wanted to do the 10k and started running a few times a week about 6/7 months ago and got the bug. Today was the furthest I’ve ran and completed it in 57.43
I would just like to take this opportunity to thank every member of tff who has either donated towards the charity or offered their support by spreading the word on here or just messages of good luck. I’m not going to name names as there’s too many and it wouldn’t be fair but I am grateful to you all.
I can honestly say I’ve been extremely humbled taken a back and touched by everyone’s incredible generosity in a time when people are struggling with the cost of living and farm incomes are at an all time low.
It just shows that farmers aren’t tight grumpy b@stards.
when I started it I set the goal at £250 thinking people would donate a few pounds each as charity is a personal thing and people have their own preferences but I’m honestly flabbergasted that donations are now at over £1600 which is incredible, and if it helps only one person it will of been well worth it.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say that prostate cancer is very treatable if caught earlier, and would encourage anyone over 50 to go and get a yearly PSA test, it’s a 5 minute blood test which will help to detect it earlier, it really is a life saver.
There’s no point in any of the donations if you don’t go and get things checked out.
anyone thanks again to everyone….much love
