A question about subsidies

A curiosity, now when the UK leaves the EU in compliance with Brexit, how are they going to collect subsidies equivalent to the CAP payments?

In Spain, the period for the request for PAC grants begins on February 1, I suppose that in the rest of the EU it will be the same so that these procedures begin just the next day of Brexit

2020 same as previously while UK in exit transition. Then assuming UK leaves fully EU December 2020, the UK own Agriculture Policy should be introduced. The UK governments plan on leaving EU is to phase out Direct Income Support Payments over period 2021 to 2027. The money, or a proportion will be used instead to pay for an enhanced Environmental Stewardship Scheme. But this is not intended as a replacement.

I was wondering if he was attempting to state the funds for UK farmers came from the EU .. when the reality is many EU farmers got UK money.

Nope, I never took it from his post that the fella ( I assume he is a fella?!) was intending to wind up the anti EU brigade on here!! He was asking a quite straightforward and possibly relevant question.

Hey ho.

Es lo mismo aquí en Portugal. Cada año es del 1 de febrero al 30 de abril.

No sé cuándo los agricultores del Reino Unido presentan sus reclamos cada año.

English: It is the same here in Portugal. Each year is from 1 February to 30 April.

I do not know when UK farmers submit their claims each year.

I will be interesting to see if we will still have the choice of being paid in Euros rather than £ Sterling.

And more important, will we eventually revert to Acres rather than alien Hectares. And why not - about 99% of farmers and 100% of the UK public speak in Acres. In fact, Acres are part of my religious beliefs, and being forced to use Hectares is nothing less than religious persecution.

Can someone on here start a petition. Nothing complicated, just a petition to revert to acres. And don't anyone dare to contradict me.

@Spanish

We in the longer term are going to have the same size pot of money, but will have to earn subsidy by providing public goods. These public goods are likely to be an increase in trees, public access, improving water qualty, possible storage of water in times of flooding & our union is campaining for food production to be considered a public good.

Farmers are going to get less because already wildlife experts are been recruited & paid for out of our money allo

How are your crops doing Spanish, please reply to the question in the cropping section, we are interested in your wheat, other cereals & even grass.

You really think that decimalisation is somehow connected to EU membership? How tragic if that’s the case.

Do you converse with your neighbours in Hectares? Do you prefer Hectares to Acres? Did Dan Archer ever talk about the 10ha field. I doubt it.

? You were being serious ?
I don’t, but I don’t in acres either. And I know that neither have anything to do with being in the EU.

Be honest, is it easier to divide by 10,000 or by 4840? Is 3x12x22x10x8 not much harder than 10x100x1000 ?

But an acre is 10 square chains. What can be more metric than that. And then there are rods, poles and perch - so you can combine acres and coarse fishing.

I know and understand both systems fine, but you can’t deny the lunacy of having a system that is base 12, 3, 22 and 10 all at the same time.

Without a calculator, how many square foot in an acre? It’s 10,000 square metres in a hectare. And then how many inches in a furlong? It’s 100 x 1000 = 100,000 cm in a km.

Oh, and as for square chains being ten to the acre - that’s not metric at all. It’s decimal (a multiple of ten), but not metric.
