If i was you Olly i would tell everybody to shove it get on with running your business how you want to and let these whinging and wining tossers get on with it.
But he also claims to represent farmers in his roles on the boards of red tractor and NFU.

If he wants to tell me and other farmers questioning policy and his motives to shove it, that's fine, but he can't be both.

Or he has 3 mortgages and has to work his arse off for 20 years
This is often forgotten and jealousy presides. Thank you for coming and responding to some valid and some unfair comments.... the trouble is Ollie, that the average farmer is not being properly supported. One thing I personally cannot get my head round is this greenwashing and accusation over farm emissions. On one hand government figures say we emit 5mt of co2, this gets lumped up to 8-9mt in some figures which includes all the haulage, processing, packaging etc. Never is the counter argument heard that British agriculture sequests 36mt of co2. Apparently we have to be greener by way of sfi or tree planting. How can gfc quantify itself in the pure denial of the carbon sequested? If the figures say we emit 9mt of co2, there is no green initiative in agriculture, there are no offsettable allowances for scope 3 emissions if we are told as an industry that its a net co2 emitter. The whole thing is dead in the water. Be good if someone, maybe you @agricontract ,with influence might put their head above the parapet and say the truth that OUR sector is incredibly good at carbon offset just as it is. Yes, we can probably do even better at reducing our emissions and capturing even more carbon... but it has to be accepted by the public, the government, the NFU, the gross emitters that to do so comes at a considerable value in food production and supply. It is not a hand that should be forced.

Like i said.. can’t really blame you I wouldn’t wanna rock the boat either… but publicly saying “it ain’t that bad really farming in the uk” with your voice and outreach is quite damaging when your circumstances are massively different too the average farmer
Its been alot worse in the uk in the recent past for all, it aint to bad at the moment , yes it could be better but it always will can be better .. imo its a fair comment to say it aint to bad at the moment .

Having seen on the inside of all 3 mentioned organisations
None are perfect far from it
But all in my opinion are needed
To say something detrimental at any level in public would be silly in my opinion because although I’m just a farmer my opinion seems to carry more weight with the following I have 🤦‍♂️
But that’s not to say I don’t to there face
Nfu does lots of good it’s just sh!t at communicating it and slow

Red tractor needs backing up 20 years but we do need a level of assurance sadly

Ahdb is a massively under utilised resource if you use it for what it’s there for it’s hellish value for money
For what it’s worth I use to think like you

If we need a level of assurance how come imports dont?
