Tis a supposedly small quarry and supposedly meant to get filled back in with materials dug out to make the roads, hence the term borrow stone to be replaced with back fill

Would imagine a lot of the plant would be because the owners went bankrupt and weren't very co-operative and the liquidators never found them as the workers never turned up for work after he went bankrupt so they had to guess his assets and never found them so they still stand where they did there last days work?
