Accord suffolk coulter tips

Have a number of these to change on my drill. I have the new tips and rivets, attempted to change one and was wondering what is the best way?

Has anyone ever bolted them on rather than riveting?

I personally would rivet them , bolts are easy but when if drilling in wet conditions it will stick onto the bolts keeping the tips out the ground , if it's dry not a problem.

We changed one a few years back and heated the tips of the rivets before rounding off and was fast and made for a tight fit.

They were riveted for a reason !!

Yes I get that but round here we moved back to Suffolk coulters from discs because you could still bury seed with discs in the wet but didn't get much of a crop.
If its too wet for a Suffolk coulter its too wet, trailing on a bolt head would be marginal IMO. That's on a ph combo btw, behind tractor wheels a different matter.
Everybody's conditions are different of course and no doubt rivets will keep it slicker, much easier changed the next time with bolts though.

use gutter bolts as head is narrow and domed nut is very narrow as well just cut off the thread that sticks out and a little tap with a hammer will stop it coming undone

The ceramic tips have two domed Allen key bolts(one for each side) screwed into a threaded sleeve inside the ceramic coulter. Can't see why the same can't be used for steel coulter tips.
