Acorns and cattle

I have a lot of acorns on the oak trees this year. The cattlle are reaching up and pulling the green acorns off the lower branches. If the acorns drop and they forage for them are they poisonous to cattle the same as they are to sheep! and are they just as poisonous being eaten green off the lower branches ?
TIA

If you turn cattle into a field with piles of acorns then its very risky but if the cattle have access to the trees all the time they mop up a few that fall each day and do not get the chance to gorge on enough to do them any harm
