Adding stock netting to an existing post and rail fence

I have a few hundred metres of post and rail fencing that needs to be made sheep proof, I have a lot of stock netting in the shed so want to use this.
1) I assume I just nail the wire the opposite side of the post to the rail
2) It will be ok being pulled up tight at the rails will keep the posts upright.

Anything else to look for?

Nail it same side as the rails ,,less chance of the dozy beggers getting their heads stuck between the rail and the wire

Ok thanks, so just sit the wire under the bottom rail?

Might have to put a strainer post in for the run start and then pull it up to take the slack out ,,then either staple it to the rails or into the post
