Hello everyone. We are thinking of getting someone to build us a mobile Chicken Coop Trailer on wheels which moves around the fields. Have seen them in Auz & USA on YouTube.
Has anyone heard of one & do you think we'll encounter the wrath of the Planners. ( Note that our neighbours called Enforcement on Friday about the wall we were building from Sleepers!)
Many thanks in advance

(Crap phot though!)

I want one for myself, but I've only got two hens, so it's slightly over the top for the mo.
I'm aiming for a flock of 25, so have made myself a house to suit. Intention is to range-confine the birds to keep Reynard away, and minimise any biosecurity risks to our pigs (and to stop the chooks nicking pig feed!).

If you can't find what you want, I'd happily build you a chicken house to your spec. PM me to discuss if so.

Sounds like you're having fun with the neighbours and the planners. Buy the ugliest thing you can find on wheels and convert it into a chicken house........... very old scrap combine springs to mind. 'Solved' a dispute with the neighbours myself by storing old machinery near the boundary.....;)

We've looked at those but Council say they are Polytunnels " with a degree of permanence "

Not sure where they find "degree" of permeance in their books. @George from SJM Planning will know.

It sounds like you have pee'd the neighbours off, and they have put the wind up the council. Ffs don't ask the council what they think of something - ask a planning consultant. La planners might be straight out of school, or covering for someone at short notice.

But as said your neighbour clearly hates you now, so you need to push their buttons using a proper consultant . They no doubt will have a diary where they are no writing everything. Early retired ex teachers perhaps? Curtains twitching and binoculars twinkling?

Get someone skilled to tell you the rules. Push those rules to the nth degree.

Checking back in your previous posts and threads, did you take advice from a consultant for the wall, barn, or any of the stuff you are doing? You really should. Stop engaging with the local authority. Do it all through a good agent. Don't even speak to the planners. Refer everyone to your agent. Or sell the land and move somewhere more amenable to your future plans.

NIMBYs, or specifically" Not In Your Back Yard Either" .
Maybe open air pigs will be your only option.

I believe it may come out of this:
If anchorage could be evolved without entry into the ground;ie by gravity, then issues may be resolved. Perhaps IBCs on wheels ?, as anchors. Ballasted with sufficient water to withstand hurricanes?

Just weigh it down with concrete lego blocks

Yes we have a good Consultant now. I don't really want to be speaking with Enforcement but unfortunately our neighbours keep calling them so I feel its better to respond than avoid them.
We're ok with the Sleeper wall + fencing. Were currently dismantling our Field Shelters as just can't face having a big fight with the LA.
We really do need a Barn of some kind to store feed etc so we're hoping by playing ball they will accept our new modest application.
Moving isn't an option as my work is in London & land such as ours with a building would be 2 - 3 Mil in our area.
I asked about the Chicken Wagon as thought there might be someone on here with one.
Thanks so much though for your support.

We think they wanted our land but the Asian who sold it to us wouldn't sell to them . She's a Solicitor with horses. He's a BA Pilot. Younger than us & actually an attractive couple so its very strange . I think the worst part is them having CCTV directed at our land. My husband gets really angry about it & being a SA Boer is quite vociferous at times!

Have you got children? I think if you have and their CCTV overlooks you, then you might want to make a few calls......it will have to meet data protection laws etc. I strongly suggest that you look into this. Because the unlawful filming of someone else's children would be a bigger deal than someone's mobile chicken hutch.
