Not a lot of choice really, you cannot employ a second private company so it will have to be local council. How are you two getting on ?
I see AEDIS have gone into voluntary liquidation. No chance of sueing them then !!
My architect is going to revert back to the local council and take it from there
What are you going to do ??

My builder and architect are working on a similar project to my build in the same location
Said the Council man was good.... filled out the Reversion paperwork on the building control website and council took over
Having said that I haven’t done mine yet !!!
Not had a peep from them either. We will be moving in next month, luckily my builder has taken lots of pictures (that he used to email to the Aedis inspector) also has the new number of the ex Aedis inspector who is doing the same job for a different company.
The council will not have the money or time to argue the toss about too much anyway I’m sure.
I wouldn’t be too sure about that. Your LABC will be bound by its own insurance to make sure anything they sign off complies. Some LABC may be sympathetic, others may try to “put you to the sword”
I have been reading the attached forum with interest
Hi all, with regards to Aedis I have been able to claim my fees back which I paid for on a credit card. Still out of pocket but it was good to get over £600 back. If you have paid on credit card you can raise a dispute as they have not completed the service you have paid for. The credit card company will then reimburse you. Hope this helps someone.
