Full press release here:

AGCO/Fendt is suspending the tractor production beginning March 25, 2020 because of the Corona pandemic.

The agricultural machinery producer AGCO/Fendt is stopping the production at the sides Marktoberdorf and Asbach-Bäumenheim. The complete closure of important production sides in Europe means that important supplier components are not available anymore and the production is only sufficient until March 24, 2020. Despite the good numbers of orders the tractor production has to be stopped on March 25, 2020. As a precaution we requested short-time work for the staff of the tractor production and got approval for it. During disruption in production, supporting dealers´ and customers´ service demands remains a top priority. At the locations Feucht, Waldstetten, Hohenmölsen and Wolfenbüttel the supply of parts is for the time being still ensured. For this reason the production can be continued.

“At AGCO the safety of our employees, dealers and farmers is the absolute focus of our efforts. At the same time we want to ensure that our customers can continue to work and provide food for the population“, Christoph Gröblinghoff, chairman of the AGCO/Fendt management. “As a responsible company we apply strict hygiene rules and offer home office solutions wherever possible. At the same time we also secure our company in order to be able to remain profitable and stable on the market. The same applies to our sales partners who want to serve the farmers in the best possible way, especially now in spring ordering and sowing. Because of the missing parts we do not see any other possibility than to stop the production. When we can start again with the tractor production depends on the parts availability of our suppliers. As soon as the supply chain is working again we are starting again“, says Christoph Gröblinghoff.

70% of the world is in lockdown.

Will be no parts for anything within 3/6 months if this carry's on.

No as it’ll peak and then it slows down. If it infects everybody quickly then it runs out of people if that makes sense. 80% of people won’t know they’ve had it. The rest do and 1-2% pass away.
We could be back to normal within 6 months if it goes rife as it’s only a 14 day process.
