Does the WAS work well?
Seems a much easier way to mount than many, think its probably the biggest stumbling block.
You need a good WAS to have good steering!
It seems to work well. I haven't done much with that tractor to really get a feel for it yet. The tractor does have issues with loosing heading, but I'm pretty sure the issue there is the roll sensor.
There are two black boxes on the A pillar mount the top one should have a panda in it, but I didn't get that working last autumn. I put a BNO085 in the lower black box, which has a V2 board in it. I had to make a mount inside that box for the BNO and it was only when I came to calibrate it that I realised I had got it mounted upside down by mistake. It steers quite well, but bumps can totally confuse the heading. Getting the panda working this spring should sort that out, hopefully.
Most of my other WAS are Honeywell RTY with printed leaver arms direct on to them to a kingpin or track rod. They work well and their geometry is set to minimise ackermann effect, but not the most robust to knocks and the arms end up awkwardly long when connected to a track rod.
Honeywell sensors had doubled in price when I got this tractor so I tried a PS2P-CON sensor instead. They don't look as robust as the Honeywell design, which have a built in plug socket. I encased the PS2P-CON in plenty of PCTG, with grips the flexible conduit, so none of the little wires are exposed.
