AgOpenGPS RTK Autosteer, How to Guide for £1000

What does the comment at the very end of the article mean:
"In theory, the Valtra should be able to connect straight to the RTK2Go signal, but its Trimble-based system requires an additional piece of code to make it compatible."

I assume a 2018 Valtra would have the Trimble or the Novatel receiver but even if had the older Topcon based receiver, it should be able to use any RTK2GO signal, RTCM 1008 and legacy format needed for Topcon but what is the additional piece of code? Hopefully they knew the email address requirement RTK2GO introduced some time ago.

Something about Trimble receiver needs an extra MSM,

So for AOG you need say 1005, 1077, 1087, 1097 and 1230

But for Trimble you needed to add 1008 and 1012 (I've made these up, its something like this).

So in the article linked the RTK2Go base station are probably only broadcasting the standard messages and will just need a few boxes ticking in UCentre.

At least our AGCO branded Topcon AGI-4 receivers did not accept any MSM messages at all, need to feed legacy messages (1004 for GPS, 1012 for Glonass). AGI-4 does not support Galileo nor Beidou).

1008 and 1012 sounds an odd pair if no 1004.

Are you referring to F9P with "AOG" here? AOG can use other receivers too, even Trimble.

Was just plucking numbers out of thin air with 1008 and 1012, just making the point that I suspect it needs additional messages to work and this likely the 'code' that's needed.

Charger for the toughpad. Salvaged plug of a charger I picked up off the verge next to house and transformer recommended on this thread, but the jack plug needs changed yet. The one I got f(as in I probably ordered the wrong one!) from Amazon is the wrong size. Then all fitted into an aluminium project box.

I'm just charging off the 14 odd V alternator voltage, also using a scavenged connector. Will it do any harm, other than not charging when the engine is stopped and the tablet not realising and not going into power saving mode?

Getting near the finishing stages and trying to plan ahead so before I start making a mount for the AIO board, does it have to be mounted flat, facing a certain direction? I like the way clbarcla has his mounted near the corner post in an upright position but was not sure if the Cytron accounts for its orientation or if you can adjust that in the software settings.

Second, I received my Baraki valves and looking to get them mounted on my old Ford tractors. These are OC valves, with the 3 pins. I have a couple diagrams saved both for hyd hose routing, and also wiring diagrams to the ampseal, but want to make sure that they are for the OC and not LS. Or are they the same for the wiring side of things?

Thanks,
-Matt

It needs to be orientated flat with the arrows on the bno pointing forwards and to the right.
I think.

Needs to be flat (ish) and orientated at right angles to the direction travel. You can swap the Y and X axis.

Ampseal socket:
  • pointing forward, need to change no settings
  • pointing backwards need to invert the IMU roll
  • Pointing left or right, switch to they Y axis in the IMU settings.

The BNO085 is the IMU where orientation matters.

The Cytron is the motor/valve controller, so doesn't matter its orientation and its output can be inverted.

Wiring is the same for OC and LS, plumbing is obviously different.

Andy,

I discovered just yesterday that the board needs to be horizontal ish. unfortunately my mount had it slipped kind of vertically between door and console for space saving reasons.
I was getting occasional loss of sense from the system which seemed to coincide with headland manoeuvres. then the penny dropped. I moved the box to horizontal and no further issues from then on.
I now need to reconsider it's home.

Theres not many tractors you cannot put it beside the seat, usually handbrake oneside and the other is free.

Mounted low down, near centre and as close to rear axle as possible.

The bno in my pics should be in the small box, plugged into a horizontal PANDA circuit board. That didn't work as intended, so it is now on a bracket inside the bigger box, with wires from the horizontal mounted BNO to the almost vertical V2 PCB.

Has anyone tried fixing a ram mount ball directly to the tablet?
Just an idea i had as the tablet mount i have it ok but its not that secure

the original ram tight is a decent job, the cutout looks like it will allow the port cover for the USB to be opened. are you using USB or ethernet, and you have regular battery rather than the big battery which is 0.5" thicker so it should suit you

The pre wired plug for the WAS I bought off eBay (off the first page of this thread) seems to be the wrong way round. The pins are in slots 2,3 and 6 rather than 1,4 and 5 as it should be.

I presume this is a manufacturing fault?

Thats my plug and the eBay stock picture, they are the opposite way round in the picture

I recall that the landrover sensor has inbuilt redundancy with duplicated internals and and you can use either pins 2, 3 and 6 or 1, 4 and 5. It's been a few years since I saw a pin layout diagram for them though.
