We are staying in Hamburg because 10 of us couldn't get a hotel in Hannover, we have been for the last 5 shows , never had a problem beforehand but we tried to book 14 months in advance and no chance without a horrendous price .
We always talked about Hamburg so it was decided we would fly Wednesday night and train in Thursday and Friday . That gives us Saturday night to kick the ball hard and fly home Sunday night.
I really love Hannover and know my way round even when drunk ! It is a lovely city and I will miss staying there . Maybe we might call at a few hotels to see if we can book for 2019 there and then.
Think the train is about €30 return and 1.5 hrs if you leave early enough, and there will be a bit of time to have a beer in the beer hall before we leave .

We booked a 6 bed house for 9 nights for €2000 , working out good value / night .

Still proving a pain in the ass, using air bnb for the first time, have got one grand apartment to take 3-4 need another to take 3 but having no luck getting the request accepted, not the most ideal way to book a place to stay from my current experience.
