I'm being quoted the thick end of £2k to negotiate a deed of surrender. This seems like daylight robbery to me.
Any one else done this recently ?
TIA.

Legal pricing is different to many others because the other side in a dispute situation may be easy to deal with, or they could argue everything.
If you foresee lots of trouble or the deal is not fully agreed in a “heads of agreement” then maybe go for a fixed price.
If it is likely to be uncontroversial or you have a professional Heads of Agreement which covers everything then put your money where your mouth is and ask for just an hourly rate.
Just have a chat about it with your solicitor.
Agreeing fees is the one time solicitors and those they help are on different sides of the desk (read virtual desk) so get it agreed and move on to do the job before anyone changes their mind.
