AHDB seeks farmer views on data sharing code of practice

You make me laugh. Tell you what, why not ring up HMRC as well and tell them you want a refund

Levy Bodies are written into a Statutory Instrument and are technically classified as a parafiscal tax. There’s no way out of paying UNLESS you have enough support to execute the “sunset clause” that was put in place at the start

If you make a loss , HMRC will send a rebate , the AHDB Won’t .
We do need to support this petition or we will be forever moaning about them, let’s stop this Quango ASAP.

So a £55k levy payment which I think you said is at 0.6% of turnover. That’s some farm buisness with a t/o of £9.2m just on levy charged items.
I’m in a different league to those sort of figures.

It’s still relative but because it’s turnover based 0.5% you are still required to pay even if you make a loss! Makes me sick

Christ bestriding spraak dont encourage them to take on any more staff they will soon be asking their pension fund to build more offices, they just get by at the moment by keeping staff to a absolute maximum of 3days they have only 350 desks so it works fine next thing you'll be wanting them to share a desk

Looks like it is not going to be the best of years on this farm so when ahdb get back from their Christmas rest (anybody any idea when they are back should I leave it till mid march) I was going to give them a call I hope they don't mind me disturbing them I know someone's got to get them paper houses built but I will need to show my bank manager some decent accounts so since they have taken on ex Tesco chappie tom hind ( yes I did wonder why too considering Tesco hate farmers) I would like him to go over my figures let's face it if anybody can make 2 and 2 make 6 it's got to be somebody from Tesco.

Making good progress just approaching 3million pounds of levy payers signed up somebody will soon have to listen to us ,by the way I have not seen guy smith on tff lately should we organise a search party

Thank god for that I wouldn't want him to think we didn't love him any more,i mean how would farmers manage without the nfu and ahdb it's absolutely unthinkable

It seems we still have a few growers who have not signed the petition either you have been on a long holiday or you have too much spare cash if you want to stop shovelling it into peter Kendall's bottomless pit please sign

Looks like there will be quite a few spare Tesco employees floating about in the wake of their latest job cuts surely Peter Kendall not going to take another load on he has already taken six plus their wives we are going to have to increase the levy these people do not come cheap, mind you they have one vacancy a chap has just retired after 30 years he has been researching club root in veg all this time and has not come up with any meaningful conclusion what a complete waste of time ask any veg grower what the answer is and they can tell you in ten seconds, just think of the pension he will be taking as well this chap really must be patting himself on the back.
