Air receiving testing

My insurers have just given me a quote for testing the one receiver I have in the workshop. It's not far off the cost of a whole new compressor....

Madness to buy a new compressor each year, but I could sell one year old machines each a year I suppose...

What do other people do? It isn't part of the package with this insurer, though I am aware it is with others.

Thanks

Didn't someone connect a small tank compressor which doesn't need testing to some big bore blue water pipe to effectively give a big reservoir that isn't/doesn't need testing?

Is there a cut-off point below which compressors don't need tested, if so what is the size required and is it tank size or hp or fad etc.

That "water pipe" would still need testing if you have a compressor with fixed steel or I assume plastic pipework that also forms part of the pressure system not just the compressor so it would need testing also , obviously technically you would have worked around the issue , but the rules are there to protect you from a pressure system failing ie potentially exploding
