Anything that generates tax revenue will never be genuinely restricted...
Alcohol, Cigarettes, Gambling, Fuel, Etc etc....

I don't know how the state should tackle alcohol as an issue. It can be debilitating for many people.

I would ban gambling outright mind. All of it.

so how are you going to feed yourself there would be no farmers,I have a couple of shares in a racehorse and when it runs will oft have a little gamble but the biggest gamble i take every year is sowing the farm with crop and that is putting mine and my nearest and dearests life -style/ at risk

Seems to work and some suggestion that the minimum price needs to lift toward 65p per unit, though the lowest income household still appear to have the lowest impact. Legacy of dependency or something else?

Given enough determination, there is the DIY option. I sold all my kit a few years back.

Edit:: Then of course we create black markets and the brewers and distillers lose out as does the tax man.
