Had a speedo on a quad bike pack up once and a replacement was serious money so I bought a bike gps computer and mounted that on the quad, worked very well

We’ve used a speedo AP on an iPhone to do the same thing, worked pretty well.

Worth a pop for £8. I would assume it works with a wheel magnet, which could make mounting it a pita. You would need to program it for wheel size. GPS on a smartphone is far easier if you don’t mind mounting that in a potentially dirty place. Your iPhone X has a very clear screen.

One part fastens on the forks & the other clips onto a spoke , I feel some bodging may be required . [emoji849]

We used a kidsbike frontfork. Mounted a bike speed reader. The smaller the wheel the more accurate the speedreading. Make a mount to quickly attach and detach the little bikewheel and you're done.

Ours is mounted to a an old deutz. So not the same as a quadbike. Maybe make something to mount it on the towbar of the bike. Will take a photo of it when i'm out there

would need something like this ?….can get them in other colours I expect ..

but still wise to look down occasionally.... just in case of rabbit holes etc
