Not a thing for the cows, all cattle are on self feed, it's only the R2s which have the iodine problem on an other farm , but are on 1st cut silage and are bolused at end of December for 1st of March calving. Always use to pour on iodine , but dad is in his seventy and for safety went to bolus.Do they get the bolua at drying off? Do they get anything else close to calving? Minerals in a TMR, iodine on their backs or mgcl in the water

Our attempt at rivaling @Bald Rick 's new parlour thread. Put half of the parlour into its temporary home to get us going until new shed is built.
Not many really. I always fancied three or four, but we've been advised we will need around 15. Our first three in milk come in a fortnight, we've two more dry cows currently that should calve early next year and we will see how it goes. We are just going to bottle it and sell initially, probably do cream and butter as we get going.Are you planning on milking many? Are you home processing?
