some barsteward left 1 of our elec fence down last night, cows went 2 miles, stopped just before a main road, that's all you need to start the day off. Went into neighbours clover = 1 dead, but then back out on the road, drain blocked, and a puddle across the road, that's what stopped them. Still could be worse, they could actually have got to the main road !

Trading standards turned up unannounced one day for a pointless feed audit exercise.

The new intern asked Dad what cake we used. He said we used only MVFs finest somewhat tongue in cheek.

Which was exactly what she wrote down - MVFs Finest Range - and said she clearly saw the difference in purchasing a premium product.

How he stifled his laughing I'll never know.
we have had min vet in a few times, random urine and blood samples, and has taken samples of various feeds we use, they obviously do random checks, on farm, to check cake firms are actually doing what claim to !! Blood and urine just to check no nasties about. First came upon this vet, sampling imported cows, very helpful. Before he comes, he rings, and asks if it is convenient, no skin of our noses, he reckons it's easy to pop in here for random tests, he's also been very helpful on a couple of queries we have had.
I wish every visitor was the same !!

How are you getting on with the stickers?
Struggling with them here. May go back to paint next season. There very expensive not to be happy with them.

Yes, I thought them a bit steep also. I guess it's the putting them on the whole herd at once makes you think.

Only on day 11 here. I suspect/hope they will come into their own second round onwards.
Deffo less labour with them though.
