how does this compare.
silage is up from £55
Spreaders up from £40
Loadall up from £35.
Roughly 20% overall.

What's the breeding with these?

All sorts. The ginger is out of a Brown Swiss x by Shorthorn. Theres a Normande out of a Holstein, the white calf is a dairy shorthorn. and a Lineback which is just a fancy coloured holstein

Our silage cut 20th May was £61.50, fuel included, but our contractor always seems a bit cheaper than others. Cut, row up, self propelled, haulage, clamp work including sheeting down. Prince Pooper is moaning as it was £/acre increase from £49 last year so he might shut up at hearing of £66!

More fibre in grass. Or more grass in diet

Older grass or slower grown grass will do that. What has the protein done ?

perennial ryegrasss is in reproductive state round here i.e pushing up seed head and stem. So diet here has changed. Especially fields not hammered last time and going into strongish covers.BF up and volume and protein down a bit
