Rear discharge spreaders £50 per hr
Loadall £40 per hr

how does this compare.
silage is up from £55
Spreaders up from £40
Loadall up from £35.
Roughly 20% overall.

Our silage cut 20th May was £61.50, fuel included, but our contractor always seems a bit cheaper than others. Cut, row up, self propelled, haulage, clamp work including sheeting down. Prince Pooper is moaning as it was £/acre increase from £49 last year so he might shut up at hearing of £66!
Sounds good this year, last year was an absolute bargain.

Older grass or slower grown grass will do that. What has the protein done ?

Any reason why my butterfat would have gone from 3.7-3.8 up to 4.2? Was 3.7 a week ago, then 3.8, then 4 and now 4.17 - no changes to diet

perennial ryegrasss is in reproductive state round here i.e pushing up seed head and stem. So diet here has changed. Especially fields not hammered last time and going into strongish covers.BF up and volume and protein down a bit
