More than £150 less than £200. I'm sure they will give you a farm specific price if you call them. How much is it?

What does he mean wheat is through the roof? Price wise? Still be cheaper than any HDF cake.
@Agrispeed is going to be ready for May, but started calving in Feb. How is it progressing @Agrispeed
Ohhhh, the mind noŵ boggles.I've never dealt with Harper's. My 14% hdf cake through our buying group would fall into that same price bracket and has a fair bit of wheat feed and pk in it anyway.
Plenty of milk with your cereal then.Getting there. Still technically a suckler herd I think
Have a shed, have a concreted hole in the ground. Hopefully going in the next 3 weeks or so.
Currently milking 3 through the crush with a portable milker. Milking alfresco quickly gets boring. Only planning on milking problem cows until we're up and running.
We had no calves from 25th Feb to 14th March, which has helped.
14l from a freshish jersey OAD on hay tonight, didn't think that was too bad.
No regrets, as I could get the right cows at the right price this way.

What sort of money were they ? @farmertom said fresh calvers in the collective sale were strong money today. Another good herd in beeston on monday, might be another day outA bit of shopping today

Local farm dispersal sale at beeston today, all 2nd calvers, probably paid a little too much, but genuine sale, i knew the history, and the cows on a similar low cost system to ours, so thought was worth a little extra.
I thought getting them into my parlour would be a problem

Were the dearer ones fresh calved ?Autumn calvers amongst them ?Allt Ddu was in our discussion group, so knew the cows, and the system he had, @AGN76 yes tough cows but a bit of a shock for them, going from 700ft asl to 1200ft asl, a few of my grazing fields ar as steep as their old ones so should be right at home.
@pappuller the cows Ranged from £580 to £1900, I averaged £1320 for my four, all 2nd calvers. Im happy with what I paid, knowing the history is worth a little more.
Looks brilliant. Especially considering the rain you had a couple of weeks ago. Chapo
cows not doing a bad job of grazing, as i had to spread this with 30m2/ha of dirty water 3 weeks ago as tank was very very full! currently 20% up on last year as cows doing over 2kg/ms
